Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the application process and engagement of individuals who wish to work as caregivers under the Helpmewaka platform. By submitting a caregiver application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
1. Eligibility Requirements
To apply as a caregiver with Helpmewaka, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in their country of residence.
- Applicants must provide accurate, complete, and truthful information during the application process.
- Applicants must possess the skills, temperament, and professionalism required to provide caregiving services, including patience, reliability, and compassion.
Helpmewaka reserves the right to reject any application that does not meet its eligibility criteria.
2. Application Process
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance or employment.
The application process may include:
- Submission of personal and professional information
- Verification of identity and documentation
- Background checks (where applicable)
- Interviews or screening assessments
- Training or orientation sessions
Helpmewaka reserves the right to approve or decline any application at its sole discretion.
3. Background Checks and Verification
To ensure the safety of clients and their families, Helpmewaka may conduct verification procedures, including but not limited to:
- Identity verification
- Address verification
- Reference checks
- Criminal background screening (where permitted by law)
- Professional certification verification (if applicable)
Applicants must consent to these verification processes as part of the application.
4. Nature of Engagement
Caregivers accepted onto the Helpmewaka platform may be engaged as independent service providers or contractors, unless otherwise specified in a separate agreement.
Acceptance onto the platform does not guarantee:
- Continuous work
- A fixed number of assignments
- Guaranteed income
Assignments will depend on client demand, availability, location, and service requirements.
5. Scope of Services
Caregivers may be required to provide services such as:
- Companionship and emotional support
- Assistance with daily activities
- Basic home support
- Monitoring and reporting client wellbeing
- Assistance with errands when required
Caregivers must not provide medical services unless they are licensed and authorised to do so.
Helpmewaka may define specific responsibilities for each assignment.
6. Work Schedule
Helpmewaka currently offers two primary caregiving arrangements:
Live-In Caregivers
- Provide caregiving support Monday to Friday
- Weekends are off-duty unless otherwise agreed
Non Live-In Caregivers
- Provide care Monday to Friday
- Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Specific schedules may vary depending on client needs and assignment agreements.
7. Professional Conduct
All caregivers must maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
Caregivers are expected to:
- Treat clients with respect, dignity, and compassion
- Maintain punctuality and reliability
- Follow all Helpmewaka service guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality regarding client information
- Avoid any behaviour that could harm clients or damage the reputation of Helpmewaka
Failure to maintain professional conduct may result in termination of engagement.
8. Confidentiality
Caregivers may have access to sensitive personal and household information.
Applicants agree to:
- Protect all client information
- Avoid sharing personal details about clients
- Maintain confidentiality even after assignments end
Any breach of confidentiality may lead to immediate removal from the platform and possible legal consequences.
9. Compensation
Compensation for services will be communicated separately for each assignment.
Payment terms may vary based on:
- Type of caregiving service
- Duration of assignment
- Client agreement
Caregivers agree not to negotiate separate arrangements with clients outside the Helpmewaka platform unless authorised.
10. Safety and Reporting
Caregivers must prioritise the safety and well-being of clients at all times.
Caregivers must promptly report:
- Medical emergencies
- Safety concerns
- Unusual incidents
- Any issues affecting service delivery
Helpmewaka may establish reporting procedures that caregivers must follow.
11. Termination of Engagement
Helpmewaka reserves the right to suspend or terminate a caregiver’s engagement for reasons including but not limited to:
- Misconduct
- Breach of these Terms and Conditions
- Failure to perform duties satisfactorily
- Providing false information during the application process
- Violations of client safety or privacy
Caregivers may also discontinue their participation on the platform by providing reasonable notice where applicable.
12. Limitation of Liability
Helpmewaka is not liable for:
- Disputes arising between caregivers and clients outside platform policies
- Losses resulting from inaccurate information provided by applicants
- Circumstances beyond its reasonable control
Caregivers are responsible for conducting their duties responsibly and professionally.
13. Updates to Terms and Conditions
Helpmewaka reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.
Applicants and caregivers will be notified of significant updates where appropriate. Continued participation on the platform indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an application to work as a caregiver under Helpmewaka, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.
- You agree to comply with all policies and guidelines outlined above.
